U.S.-Jordan Leadership Exchange Program 2023

The US offers youth the chance to apply for fully funded leadership programmes. The fantastic exchange programme will improve ties between Jordan and the US. Participation in this programme is crucial for young people who want to give back to their communities.

A new generation of cooperative, imaginative, and values-driven Jordanian leaders will be produced during the course of the three-year UJLEP (U.S.-Jordan Leadership Exchange Program). The USA Leadership Program seeks to strengthen ties between Jordan and the United States by supporting the development and prosperity of Jordanian businesses and civil society.

As they return from the US, UJLEP fellows will employ their newly acquired leadership and technical skills through follow-up initiatives that will benefit Jordanian communities. UJLEP graduates will join a long-lasting Alumni Network upon their return from the United States, which will act as the foundation for support for their ongoing leadership development.

The educational program’s goal is to support students in acquiring the abilities needed for cross-disciplinary cooperation, original problem-solving, and workplace equity.

 Eligibilities

Competition for the UJLEP Program is merit-based and open to emerging civil society and community Jordanian leaders who meet the following criteria:

  • Age 21-35;
  • Citizen of Jordan;
  • Currently living and studying/working in Jordan at the time of application;
  • Has a minimum of one-year of professional experience (work, internship, volunteer or initiatives) in one of the eight UJLEP disciplines: Business and entrepreneurship; civil society; community engagement; women’s empowerment; diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility (DEIA); civic participation; public health; and environment and climate change)at the time of application;
  • Able to begin the UJLEP Program in the United States in 2023;
  • Able to receive a U.S. J-1 Visa;
  • Committed to returning to their home country after completion of the program and implementing a community-based project; and,
  • Proficient in spoken and written English at the time of application.
    • Finalists should be able to fulfill most communication goals, even on unfamiliar topics. They should understand the main ideas of both concrete and abstract writing and they should be able to interact with proficient speakers fairly easily.

Application Process:

  • Online applications are accepted for the US-Jordan Leadership Exchange Program. It’s not necessary for you to submit your application all at once.
  • All application-related responses must be written in English. You must additionally submit a full English translation if your extra material is in a language other than English.
  • A field that has an asterisk (*) needs to be filled out completely.
  • Before starting any responses, the applicant must read the application completely. All responses, especially written ones to essays, must be the applicant’s own original work.
  • Email applications and other methods of sending applications and information won’t be taken into account.
  • There is a one application limit per individual. A candidate will be disqualified if they submit two applications using different email addresses.
  • The deadline for applications is February 3, 2023.
